Emotional Intelligence (EI)—the ability to recognize, understand, manage, and effectively use emotions in ourselves and others—is one of the most critical determinants of success in life. Research shows that emotional intelligence predicts academic achievement, career success, leadership effectiveness, relationship satisfaction, and mental health—often more strongly than traditional IQ [Goleman, 1995; Brackett et al., 2011].
This foundation course provides a comprehensive introduction to emotional intelligence, drawing on the pioneering work of Daniel Goleman, Peter Salovey, John Mayer, and Marc Brackett. You will explore the four core domains of emotional intelligence: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship management. Through authentic examples, self-assessments, and practical exercises, you will develop the skills to navigate your emotional world with greater clarity and connect with others more compassionately and effectively.
