Grief is a universal human experience, yet it remains one of the most misunderstood and poorly supported aspects of life. Whether coping with the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, loss of health, or any significant life change, grief touches everyone at some point. This foundation course provides a comprehensive understanding of grief and bereavement, drawing on decades of research in psychology, thanatology (the study of death and dying), and counseling.
You will explore what grief truly is (and what it is not), examine classic and contemporary models of the grieving process, learn to distinguish between common grief and complicated grief, and develop practical skills for supporting yourself and others through loss. Through authentic examples, reflective exercises, and evidence-based strategies, you will build the knowledge and confidence to navigate grief with compassion and understanding.
