1. Purpose of This Policy

This policy defines how certifications issued by the Institute for Mental Health & Research (IMHR) may be used, displayed, and represented by certificate holders.

By accepting an IMHR certification, you agree to comply with this policy.


2. Nature of IMHR Certifications

IMHR certifications:

  • Are educational and non-clinical in nature
  • Represent completion of structured academic coursework
  • Do not constitute a professional license
  • Do not authorize independent clinical practice
  • Do not replace university degrees or statutory qualifications

IMHR does not grant authority to diagnose, treat, or provide medical or psychological therapy services.


3. Permitted Use of Certification

Certificate holders may:

  • List the certification on resumes and LinkedIn
  • Mention certification in professional profiles
  • Display digital or printed certificates
  • Use the title “Certified in [Program Name] – IMHR”

All representations must be accurate and not misleading.


4. Prohibited Representations

Certificate holders must NOT:

  • Claim to be a licensed psychologist, therapist, psychiatrist, or clinical practitioner solely based on IMHR certification
  • State or imply that IMHR certification is government-issued or government-recognized unless explicitly declared
  • Use IMHR certification to provide medical diagnosis or therapy
  • Alter certificate content, logos, or signatures
  • Create fake certificates or modify certificate details
  • Claim job placement guarantee from IMHR

Misrepresentation may result in certification revocation.


5. Use of IMHR Name & Logo

IMHR name, logo, seal, and branding elements:

  • May not be used for commercial marketing without written permission
  • May not be used to imply partnership, franchise, or authorization
  • May not be placed on business cards as an institutional affiliation

Logo usage requires formal written approval from IMHR.


6. Social Media & Public Representation

When mentioning IMHR certification publicly:

  • The full certification name should be used
  • Claims must remain within educational scope
  • No misleading clinical authority should be implied

Example of acceptable format:
“Certified in Cognitive Behavioural Foundations – IMHR”


7. Verification of Certification

IMHR reserves the right to:

  • Verify certification authenticity upon third-party request
  • Maintain permanent certification records
  • Cancel or revoke certificates obtained fraudulently

Organizations may contact IMHR directly for verification.


8. Revocation of Certification

IMHR reserves the right to revoke certification if:

  • Fraudulent documentation was submitted
  • Academic dishonesty occurred
  • Certificate is misused or misrepresented
  • Legal or ethical violations are identified

Revoked certificates become invalid immediately.


9. Limitation of Liability

IMHR shall not be responsible for:

  • How certificate holders use their credentials
  • Professional services offered independently by certificate holders
  • Misinterpretation by third parties

Certification reflects academic completion only.


10. Governing Law

This policy shall be governed by the laws of India.
Disputes shall fall under the jurisdiction of courts located in
[Pune City & Maharashtra].
